The refurbishment is very high quality, shared bathrooms are very very high end finishes , love the showers. The bed linen, the quilts, the towels, the pillows ( a pair on each side - one thick+ one thin !!) and the mattresses are all of a 5 star hotel quality.
Remember this is a historic hotel, don't expect 100% soundproof walls, windows, floors and ceilings, but this is more than made up for by the owners who are still operating it, The best customer service I have experienced in ANY hotel in the last 3 years. I can't tell you what they did to solve my problem, because then you would all want it, but their thoughtfulness for a first time customer was outstanding. AAA+++
The evening pub grub was good , healthy fare with a generous serve. REAL Ice cream , not woollies/coles $8 10lt tub stuff !!!
Breakfast is quite adequate, simple, basic and self serve , A+
Hope the new lessees are as professional and easy to get along with as the owners were last saturday night.
