  We stayed at the Gariwerd motel for two nights over the Australia day weekend. Super hot weather but as soon as we walked in to our room for the first time we felt very refreshed and relieved. Had a few bad experiences lately with motels/airbnb but we definitely made a good choice in the Gariwerd. The room was fresh smelling and very, very clean. Friendly staff who had taken over recently (according to their information folder. And kudos for the funny quips and signs around the motel) and embraced the eco with less bins/miniatures to save the planet. Also loved the native herbs planted around. A/C was great in the room and location was great too. My advice though if you want a little more relaxing and unbroken sleep is to ask for a room away from the kitchenette. We were in room 4 which was right next door and even though there were signs asking to be quiet and not to be there after 10pm, both nights there were people making noise and taking/eating/moving chairs at 1:30 & 3am respectively. Overall it was a great experience and looking for to getting back to Halls Gap.
